And some payoff for all that sanding...
This is after I trimmed the edges and cut out the hole for the truss rod.
It took about an hour to cut out and sand all the tuner holes, I was scared a drill might tear too much.
So here is the progression for the headstock. Factory black:
The so-so maple underneath:
And finally, the veneer with a couple coats of oil:
I am very pleased so far. The body will definitely be a little more complicated,
but I can't wait to start working on it.
