Lost the boy to a car on Tuesday...

We miss him so much.  He may have been neurotic and scared of everything,
but he was ours and we loved him like the family member he was.

Pepper Harvest

We had to pick all of our peppers because of the frost a couple weeks ago.  Been working on hot-sauces since.

In the middle are Cajun Belles.  The biggest bowl has Holy Mole and Poblano peppers.  Clockwise from there are Big Bomb, Super Thai Chili, Mucho Nacho, Habanero, Black Pearl and Fish Peppers.

A few from Stone Mountain Vineyards

I took plenty of pictures, but short of the snow they looked a lot like last years.
So there are only a few, but the open house was really nice.

Our Garden

Here is everything edible we have planted in the backyard now.  Everything is doing well,

Did someone say chocolate-covered bacon?

Picked up this beautiful house cured whiskey-herb bacon from Belmont Butchery on the way home from the Picasso exhibit at VMFA yesterday.  Why not cover it in chocolate, Right?

Since I live with a vegetarian, it usually takes a special occasion or a night out for me to get some meat.  But the upside is that when I do get it, it is usually pretty high-quality.  The bacon,
prosciutto and sopressata I picked up were no exception.

Finished the second two garden beds

The one to the right of the shed.

Also this little potato patch by the grill.  Planted some Superior and Yukon Gold today.

Strawberries are coming in strong too.

Hey Kansas... Problem?

Was excited for spring...

...then it snowed last night.  Nevertheless, the flowers and trees
in the front yard are blooming nicely.

That's no moon...

Actually it is a moon, not a spacestation.  Here is my shot of last night's Super Perigee Moon.
Last night was the closest the moon has been to Earth for about 18 years,
and the closest it will be for the next 18 years.

Yowza

A few coats of oil really brought out the figure.  I'll be giving it a few more coats through the week
and next weekend, I should be rewiring and then I am done.  Very satisfying...

3/5/11

The top is glued, holes are cut and ready to prep for finishing

She is starting to look really nice.  Can't wait to get a coat of oil on it.

Clamp Monster

The second half of the top veneer being glued up.  Should be ready to sand and finish this weekend.
